Lots of talk about this “mommyblogger” business. Dooce just had a book published, appeared on the Today Show, and has been featured in other media. A few high-profile “mom” bloggers have shut down their blogs recently, and there’s quite a hub-bub about how “appropriate” it is to blog about parenthood when it includes lots of details about your kid’s life.

I think the so-called controversy is all bullshit.

Heather explains it really well in this particular edition of her monthly letter to her daughter. Just read the whole thing. I can’t stress how inspirational she is to me:

We are an army of educated mothers who have finally stood up and said pay attention, this is important work, this is hard, frustrating work and we’re not going to sit around on our hands waiting for permission to do so. We have declared that our voices matter.
